What is Sebacia?
The Sebacia Treatment is different from traditional acne medications because it is done in office at Spa La Paz and reduces or eliminates the need for daily medication. The treatment is comfortable, convenient, and consists of three short 30-45 minute treatment sessions over 2 weeks. After each treatment session, there is no downtime and you can return to work or school.

How Does Sebacia Work?
The Sebacia Treatment works by delivering a formulation of gold microparticles to your skin which are then heated with a common dermatology laser. This selected heating of your skin targets the underlying cause of acne, oil production.
The treatment is an easy as 1, 2, 3:
Each treatment session starts with a thorough facial cleansing with mild soap.
The gold microparticles are gently massaged into your skin by Dr. Paas.
A common dermatology laser is applied to the skin to heat the gold microparticles, which heats the pores and glands that produce oil. This selective heating results in fewer acne lesions and an improvement in the appearance of your skin over time.
How Many Treatments are Required?
Three. Yes, that’s correct. It isn’t a typo. After approximately three weeks of at-home skin prep with treatment product that we will provide, you will have three 30-45 minute treatment sessions in our office. Your treatment days will be day 1, day 7, and day 14. If you are doing the math, that works out to about five weeks. With Sebacia, you can effectively and, for most, permanently treat your acne in just five weeks. No additional medicines, serums, or treatments. Five weeks and you’re done!

Before and After Treatment
Immediately after the treatment session, your skin may appear a little red. This is a normal response to the treatment and lasts a few hours in most patients. You can return to work or school immediately following each treatment. Most of the side effects reported during clinical trials were not related to the Sebacia Treatment. For those that were related, they are similar to laser hair removal. Dr. Paas will guide you through your specific situation.
